Attitude of Gratitude

HA The Breath of Life show at the PCC.
Aloha my Ohana!!!!

I hope all is well at home! I miss you all sooo much, but I know God needs me here right now. My time is a bit short today, so I'm sorry in advance!

Highlights from this week:
-Everyone in Hawaii is always so happy! I love it! It's perfect because smiling is my favorite ("I love smiling, smiling's my favorite!" -name that movie😉!

-One of my favorite things about being at a VC (and on a mission in general) is seeing the unique ways that I connect with people, ways that no one else there can. It's so neat seeing glimpses of why God sent me here!

-Attitude changes everything! This week I had several experiences with this. One was on Thursday. We were doing tram scouts and I was feeling a bit unmotivated and 'eh' bc there weren't many people around and no one had come on our tram yet. BUT then I thought of the "Sunshine in My Soul" hymn, and I decided to pray for faith to see a miracle that someone would come on our next tram if it were God's will, but if not that I would still be motivated and happy and work hard anyway. Well, at 3:20, there was still no one on our tram and Sister Blake started walking to get on the empty tram to take back and pick up guests from the VC. There was an older couple just about to pass by me, so I waited and invited them to take the tram tour with us. They came on ours right then!!! They were SO neat--so genuine, sweet, open, and fun. They are both Christians, and shared their stories with us. It was soooo neat to hear how each of them has seen God help them in their life, and through those experiences they came to know the reality and nature of God. He is our loving Heavenly Father! I know it!

-GUESS WHAT??! I haven't gotten a single mosquito bite since being here!!!!! It's a mission miracle haha! There aren't tons of misquitoes, but other missionaries have gotten sooo many bites, and I haven't gotten a single one. I'm usually a misquito magnet!
"hiBISQUEus!" 😂 (studio C)

-This week I feel like I have especially been thinking a lot about gratitude, and how 'by small and simple things, great things are brought to pass.' I love Alma 34:38 that talks about living in a spirit of thanksgiving daily. May we all follow the prophet's counsel and cultivate an attitude of gratitude! You will be happier, more humble, and feel better equipped to face the challenges of life. Seriously! Try it, it works😊
Thanks for the necklace you made Anna!! I love it❤
-On Monday we got to attend the "Ha - Breath of Life Show" at the PCC!!! IT WAS SO GOOD. Seriously, it was so well done. It was neat to see all 6 islands represented in one big show. They are similar, but each have many unique traditions. I love experiencing different cultures and being reminded that God loves ALL of His children! He is aware of each of us and desires to help us.

Again, I'm sorry to be so short this week!

Aloooha!!!!!! Have an amazing week! I know I sure will, and you should too:) Oh yeah, and with God on your side, everything is possible😊
Trust in the Lord,
Sister Flake
