Aloha my ohana!!!
Another wonderful past several days as a missionary:) I LOVE it!!! It's the BEST. Seriously.

Well, here's some highlights:
- Friday was an island-wide zone conference! That means ALL the missionaries on Oahu met in Laie for some great training! There were LOTS of us... maybe a couple hundred? I don't know how many exactly. It was soooooo good though! Elder Stanfill of the Seventy came and spoke to us.

Highlights of things learned are:

  • the Spirit is crucial in this (God's) work,
  • I should expect to receive promised blessings,
  • EVERY person I meet should feel their Savior's love through me,
  • Don't be afraid, only believe,
  • love for Jesus Christ should be my motivation,
  • pray vocally, and more.

So uplifting and inspiring! Recording impressions from the Holy Ghost shows gratitude to God for receiving them, and He'll send more! oh yeah and the chocolate cake at lunch was DIVINE. Pres Bekker said I've become the new "most-questions-asked-er person" ๐Ÿ˜† I'm not afraid to ask!
All Oahu missionaries!

Zone conference lunch from some local ward members❤ Classic Hawaiian lunch! love it๐Ÿ˜Š
 - MY CHRISTMAS PACKAGE FROM HOME ARRIVED ON SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! The decorations are SO creative and meaningful, I absolutely love them and can't wait to decorate later today๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ I'm so thankful for such a supportive and loving family! I am grateful to know that we can be together forever because of the special promises made in the temple❤ It's so special to know that we can be with those we love even after this life on earth! The temple really is the house of the Lord, and His authority and power was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. I am so grateful to know of that! I love teaching people about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and specifically what we do in temples. It is "beautifully simple and simply beautiful!" -Pres Nelson.

- Christmas at the Mataalii's was sooo fun! Families from the community adopt a missionary to give a Christmas gift to! I was SPOILED holy cow... Hawaiians have such a special way of sharing love with EVERYONE... we are all one big ohana! It's the best ๐Ÿ˜Š
Sister Mataalii♡ They've done this for the missionaries for 3 yrs now!
Everyone in the community loves it and wants to adopt a missionary๐Ÿ˜Š

Much love from my Hawaiian Ohana, the Harps♡

They do a lunch along with the gift giving!

- We had Transfer News on Saturday!!!!!! In the VC we get to know the changes for the upcoming transfer a few days earlier than most missionaries learn of changes. Tomorrow will mark the beginning of my second transfer! The Sister Training Leaders (STLs) always make a fun activity to reveal our new companions, areas, and pads. My activity was a puzzle of the temple! It's a super exciting night looked forward to with much anticipation :) My new companion will be... *drumroll*................. Sister Lin!!!! She's from mainland China! She's been out on her mission a little bit over a year. She'll be 'step training' me. She is so sweet! I'm really looking forward to being companions with her:) I am staying in the same pad (grateful I don't have to move all of my stuff), and my new area is M2, a married student ward for BYU-H! Sis Lin said the bishop there is AWESOME :) I'm excited!!! Tomorrow is transfer day!!! My new padmates are Sis Tonami and Sis Boyce (a newby straight from the MTC!!!). Exciting!
Transfer News activity to reveal our new comps, pads, and areas.

My new comp...Sister Lin!!♡
Sister Lin!!

- We have begun reading Jesus the Christ by James Talmage as a mission. We will complete it in May! (It's a lengthy book.) I am SO excited to dive into it! I was wanting to set a goal to read it anyways, but now I have extra motivation to actually do it!!! I'm only 15 pages in and my mind has already been blown to bits๐Ÿ˜ฒ Its AMAZING!!! I love how much Talmage references the Bible in it, as well as modern revelation that God has given us. If you want to learn more about Jesus Christ, gain a greater appreciation for Him, understand God's plan for our happiness, and strengthen your faith, I'd recommend reading it!!!!

-VC highlight: Yesterday (Monday) we met Everton and Ellia from DC. We received a copy of the BOM at zone conference that had a testimony of a local community member inside. Sis Blake and I prayed for the opportunity to give this special copy of the BOM to someone we felt prompted to share it with at the VC today. Surprise, our prayer was answered!!!;) We had a special experience sharing the simple truths of the gospel with the two of them. When we were explaining temple sealings, Ellia teared up and really appreciated it. The spirit was sooo strong! Everton really liked the concept of baptisms for the dead. We were able to testify of simple truths about Jesus Christ, God's plan for our happiness, modern prophets, the Book of Mormon, and service. It was a miracle experience! ...and an answer to our prayer :) They both are very into serving the community through their church, and so we are going to send them the #LighttheWorld initiative calendar!

I encourage you all to participate in the daily simple service activities. Help fill the world with Christ's love and light this Christmas season! YOU will feel so much joy in serving OTHERS... I PROMISE:))) https://www.mormon.org/christmas/25-ways-25-days Share the new light the world video on social media too!! Spread the light:) I absolutely LOVE this special time of year, and am especially excited to experience it as a missionary. If you, or anyone you know, are interested in learning more about the hope Jesus Christ brings, the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon, temples, what I do as a missionary, or anything else, please email me or visit mormon.org and request a local missionary visit! you won't regret it๐Ÿ˜Š This gospel has brought me so much joy and peace, and I know it can bring it to you as well. Jesus Christ is the reason for this glorious season, and I am so thankful for Him. He wants us to come unto Him! Let Him lead you through life... you'll become more than you ever could on your own. Guaranteed.
